An American in search of a rifle, a monk following an order, and Buthan becoming a democracy
On one side, an American traveling to Bhutan in search of a valuable antique rifle. On the other, a monk seeking two weapons, following an order he received. In the midst of it all: a Bhutan transforming into one of the world's latest democracies, and an elderly lama unhappy with the arrival of this new political regime.
This is the premise of the The Monk and the Gun, which explores the country's transformation. A nation that was, in fact, among the last to gain access to television and the internet.
And where does James Bond fit into this story? To find out, you will have to watch the feature film, which has won awards at major film ceremonies.
The film is available to stream on Apple TV and Prime Video — depending on your region.
