Two soldiers, opposing sides, and one trench in the Bosnian War of 1993
The feature film chosen is well known among movie lovers — and it’s also a highly acclaimed work that has received numerous awards from other major ceremonies.
Set during the Bosnian War in 1993, the story follows an unexpected situation: two soldiers from opposing sides of the conflict become trapped in the same trench, caught between enemy lines. As the United Nations attempts to negotiate a ceasefire to rescue them, a third soldier takes the tension to an entirely unexpected level.
Drama, dark humor, and social commentary come together in director Danis Tanović’s feature debut, which explores hatred, attempts at peace, and the political rivalries that fuel the conflict.
The film is available to stream on Mubi and Prime Video — depending on your region.
